Rose McGowan’s figure was apparently a concern for industry higher-ups at one point. The Italian-born actress says the executives of the hit series Charmed were constantly keeping an eye on her and her weight during the show’s run. Rose has openly shared that she previously suffered an eating disorder in the early 90s.
She joined the cast of Charmed ahead of season four, portraying Paige Matthews. While she had a successful spell on the program until the series ended, it seems executives were monitoring her condition every step of the way.
Rose McGowan says Charmed execs weighed her each season

For as much confidence as the Charmed casting team had in Rose’s acting, it sounds like one thing was on the minds of network executives. In an interview on the podcast, We Need to Talk, Rose claims executives on the show would “check my weight when I came back from season to season.” She became a regular cast member at the midway point of the show and remained on it until its conclusion after eight seasons.
The Grindhouse actress says that the constant monitoring was seen as chill and normal behavior by the program’s executives. She admits that working on Charmed was difficult for her because it was her first time dealing with “super corporate dynamics.”
Following Charmed, Rose went on to act in two Grindhouse movies produced by Quentin Tarantino. Quentin called out There Will Be Blood actor Paul Dano last month, calling him “weak sauce.”
Working with a network executive on TV shows seems to be among the many difficult things Rose has dealt with before. In 2018, she claimed that she needed hypnotherapy to process her time on the WB docuseries Citizen Rose. She says she suffered her share of panic attacks during that run. In her memoir, Brave, Rose claimed to have gained 10 pounds for her role on Charmed.
