According to The Times report, Prince Harry expects a protection review amid speculations on his U.K. return along with Meghan Markle and their children. Last month, the Home Office approved his request for a risk assessment. Sources hope Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec) will reinstate armed protection for King Charles’ younger son in Britain.
A friend said, “We hope common sense prevails,” and emphasized that as a royal family member, “the risk doesn’t just stop.” They also referenced Harry’s meeting with his father in September, stating, “He genuinely loved it. He wants to do more of that.” The friend continued, “He always loves seeing his father and would love to see him as much as possible.”
Meanwhile, Harry is returning for a court trial against Associated Newspapers. The case is set to begin January 19. Still, one source said, “It’s not a nice experience for anyone to find themselves in court.” However, the same person added that the duke feels confident going in. They added, “He just wants to get through it and move on. [He hopes] justice will prevail.”
If security is “sorted,” he wants a U.K. return with Markle and the kids. A source said, “His desire is to show his kids where he grew up and the UK.” However, school schedules could shape dates. The report points to summer work tied to the Invictus Games 2027 in Birmingham. It also notes he attends the WellChild Awards in London each September.
For now, sources dismiss claims that the duchess will never return. One source said, “They love to do stuff as a family whenever they can.” One said, “I think she would come back with him [and the children].” Another added, “I can’t see a reason why he’d come over with the kids without her.” So, the next Sussex trip may hinge on the Ravec decision and the trial calendar.
