Sinners has emerged as the most-nominated movie at this year’s Oscars, marking an incredible milestone in the history of the Academy Awards. One of the most celebrated movies of the year, this horror epic starring Michael B. Jordan continues to soar high in the award season.

Sinners has made Oscar history, breaking the record of most Oscar nominations received by a single film. The Ryan Coogler-directed supernatural horror has earned a staggering total of 16 nominations, including Best Picture. Additionally, Sinners marks the first Oscar nominations for stars Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, and Delroy Lindo.

The record was previously held by Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s All About Eve (1950), James Cameron’s Titanic (1997), and Damien Chazelle’s La La Land (2016), tied with 14 nominations each. Meanwhile, the record for most wins is currently held by Ben-Hur (1959), The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), and Titanic, each with 11 wins.
