Welcome back, Below Deck Down Under fans! Last week, Ellie returned to filming. This season, she’s working as Ben’s sous chef, since his former assistant, Alesia, begged for a new gig in the interior department, far away from his sarcastic comments. So far, Ben’s a big fan of Ellie’s. Meanwhile, their guests aren’t exactly fans of their vacation, as seen on BDDU Season 4 Episode 4.

What happened in Below Deck Down Under Season 4 Episode 4?

Before Ellie joined the yacht, Jenna and Ben were vibing. But now that Ellie’s here, Ben’s attentions are divided, leaving Jenna annoyed. Likewise, tensions are also rising amongst their guests. So now, Daisy and Captain Jason have their hands full, trying to make things nice following many, many mishaps onboard.

A distracted Ben sets a bad precedent for the guests

Ellie hopes “to be a strong team” with Ben. As for Ben, he’s stressed. He’s always one mishap away from losing his cool. Ben will “need to finess” Ellie, he jokes.

Alesia starts turning over the yacht. Mike’s glad to have her. He’s hoping to spend more time on deck, giving the guests “a good time.” Mike tells Alesia that they are now like Batman and Robin in the interior department, which Alesia loves.

Back in the galley, Ellie’s “reporting for duty.” Her official title is “galley assistant,” Ben suggests. “Heck ya. Let’s go,” Ellie cheers.

They flirt a bit, and then, Ellie appears in her confessional, admitting that “Ben slid into my DMs one time. He said that he was a big fan of my pictures.” She’s glad they never hooked up, though. Because now that he’s her boss, that would’ve been weird.

Ellie makes sandwiches for the crew. As she works, she and Ben laugh. Alesia overhears, wondering, “Why are they giggling? He’s really mean.”

Ellie and Ben continue talking while working. When Captain Jason radios, asking everyone to change into their whites before meeting him upstairs, Ben tells Ellie, “We have time.” Except they don’t. Their guests are already standing on the pier wearing puzzled expressions, since the crew is still inside, waiting for Ben and Ellie.

Captain Jason’s mad. First impressions matter, and when they’re bad, it doesn’t bode well for the charter. So now, everyone needs to band together and “spend all charter making up for” Ben’s misstep.

Language barriers, unhappy guests, and a scary incident at sea

Everyone on board has an accent, so Betul has a hard time understanding what she needs to do. Jenna’s the worst, though, because she mumbles. Daisy seemingly agrees.

Like Betul, Ben’s also stressed out. In response to his lateness, Christian, their primary guest, joked, “Don’t let it happen again.” They clearly have standards, so Ben’s gotta step up his game.

Except, it’s too late. Their guests are starving and sitting down to eat. Daisy radios the galley multiple times, but Ben and Ellie never respond. They’re thankfully working, but they’re moving slowly, since they’re too busy talking.

The interior team goes into overdrive, cranking out drinks as a distraction. Even still, Annette, their co-primary, isn’t impressed. She’s missing a straw, and she needs to see the ingredients used to make her Bloody Mary. And finally, when the first dish arrives twenty minutes later, it’s not Annette’s “cup of tea.”

Following a few language-related blunders during docking, Betul’s emotions are running high. She tells Captain Jason that she feels “stupid,” and she hates that, since she’s felt that way her entire life. In his talking head, Captain Jason grows emotional.

As a dad, his main goal is to make his daughter feel loved and seen. Betul doesn’t have this anchor in her parents. So, he wants to support her, “and give her a home while she’s here.” WHY IS THIS MAN STILL SINGLE?

The guests go on a snorkeling excursion, but the currents are strong. João pulls them back into the tender, but Liz is missing. Several tense moments later, João locates her.

Thankfully, she’s wearing a life jacket. Without it, Liz admits, she would have been “a little panicked.” João blames Mike for not keeping a better eye on their guests.

The guests can’t catch a break

Alesia’s not giving off boyfriend vibes, leaving Eddy’s “head’s a bit twisted.” But so is Mike’s. He likes Daisy, but she’s not reciprocating, so he’s going after Ellie now instead.

The guests head upstairs for their polos-and-pearls-themed dinner. Christian and Annette arrive first, but not only is their decor unfinished, but it’s also all wrong. Daisy’s team used country horses instead of polo horses. “Let’s get rid of it before anybody sees it,” Christian orders.

João calls a meeting with his team. Today was scary, and they need to get their heads in the game. “Give us a break,” Mike argues from the safety of his confessional.

Dinner runs late, but thankfully, the guests are mostly still happy with it. After, Daisy also calls a meeting with her team. They moved too slowly with the decor, she notes, but Mike pushes back again, since he’s a deck/stew. Daisy doesn’t give him an inch.

The next morning, the guests go on a beach picnic. Annette’s overheating, but she’s left her swimsuit on the yacht. Daisy sends Eddy to grab it, which he does, but 30 minutes later, he’s still not back. The food is also not at the beach, so Daisy calls the yacht.

Eddy doesn’t remember being told to bring this swimsuit to the beach. Um, what? So you just grabbed it to look at it?

Regardless, 45 minutes later, Annette’s still waiting. Nothing’s going right for these guests, and now, Daisy’s ready to pop.

Below Deck Down Under is streaming on Peacock. BDDU airs on Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo.
