If you haven’t paid attention, Mercedeh “MJ” Javid’s life changed drastically a few months ago. Specifically, in October 2025 she filed for divorce against her husband Tommy Feight. In addition to always sharing the screen together, the former couple also share their 6-year-old son Shams.
It was an unexpected breakup at the time, but thanks to The Valley: Persian Style, fans now can connect the dots. The premiere season has given viewers an up-close look into the downfall of their relationship. Has she been back out on the dating scene since filing for divorce? MJ just gave an update.
Mercedeh Javid and Tommy Feight’s divorce is not yet finalized
MJ recently spoke up about her love life, and right now it’s nonexistent. In fact, the split from Tommy is making her consider putting romance on the backburner indefinitely.
“It’s extremely raw and very new, everything that has happened. I just can’t. I think I’m gonna be a celibate monk or like, wait until Shams is like 35,” she told Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
The reality TV star also opened up to the outlet about why she chose to file for divorce in the first place.
“Filing was a choice out of self-preservation and self-worth, that’s what that move was. You can choose that and love someone at the same time and prioritize your baby boy, which we’re both doing really well. I’m really impressed with how well we’re handling this new chapter.”
Thankfully, her and Tommy’s separation is calm and amicable. In fact, it seems like their relationship has actually improved since starting the process to end their marriage.
