When two people actively decide to end a marriage but choose to continue raising children together, the story cannot simply fade to black. It continues to evolve. That’s exactly what happened with Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, who are co-parenting their 3 adorable children, Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 13.
This is exactly what she recently opened up about, how raising kids in two separate households comes with its own share of ‘little losses’. This is why they have always worked hard to present united fronts, for the kids’ sake. This can often be very challenging.
Jennifer Garner details co-parenting kids with Ben Affleck in separate households
During her recent interview with Bustle, Jennifer Garner recently opened up about her co-parenting relationship with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck. She explained how raising kids in separate households has its own ups and downs. Describing this, she said, “I become mom and dad; he becomes dad and mom. You kind of can’t help it, right?”
She also further added, “This is because you don’t have the benefit of both sides of the yin and yang being in the same house. And so you have to have a bit of both in the way that you parent.” Garner also elaborated on the complexities of single parenthood. She discussed how this brings up mixed feelings. While describing this, she added, “There’s a little bit of loss in that, but there’s also something gained in that.”
Even with these “little losses,” it’s clear that Garner and Affleck remain committed to what matters most: their children. At the end of it all, even if life may look different than it once did, their shared focus on stability and love continues to shape the family dynamic, in the process of building a beautiful life and future for their children.
