Donald Trump is shaking up his cabinet, making a big move on Thursday. Markwayne Mullin will take over the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), replacing Kristi Noem.
Kristi has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons of late. Many have blasted how the DHS has been run under her watch. Kristi reportedly had an affair with another member of the DHS, senior advisor Corey Lewandowski. The two are married and have denied these allegations. Markwayne has served as a Junior United States Senator in Oklahoma since 2023.
Kristi Noem will remain in President Trump’s administration

She may have lost her title at the DHS, but Kristi isn’t leaving the Trump administration. On his Truth Social Thursday, the President says that Kristi “will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas.” Donald praised her efforts as Secretary, saying that she’s achieved excellent results in that role.
Many political pundits might disagree with the President’s assessments of her work. Kristi has been the butt of jokes amongst comedians since rumors of her affair came out. Among those poking fun at her was Desi Lydic of The Daily Show. She took aim at her this week, jokingly expressing excitement about the supposed consensual affair between Kristi and Corey.
While he may be saying nice things about her, online reports indicate that the President was preparing to oust Kristi from her current position. This came amid the allegations about her affair. Many public figures have called for her firing following aggressive actions in Minneapolis. ICE agents controversially killed Renee Nicole Good, while Alex Pretti was also shot dead by border agents. That sparked mass protests in the area.
Kristi was selected for the Secretary post in November 2024, shortly after Donald defeated Kamala Harris in the race for President. Markwayne will officially take over as the DHS Secretary on March 31st.
TELL US – SHOULD THE PRESIDENT HAVE KICKED KRISTI NOEM OUT OF HIS CABINET ALTOGETHER?
