As questions around Nancy Guthrie’s case continue, Megyn Kelly says a throwback video on the “Today” show featuring Guthrie’s bedroom may have gone wrong. In her recent YouTube segment, Kelly said her team found a 2013 “Today” show video that shows the inside of Guthrie’s bedroom in Tucson, Arizona, and it involves a bed-making segment. It has Savannah Guthrie chatting live from New York while her mom appeared from home.
Megyn Kelly connects 2013 Today Show video of Nancy Guthrie’s bedroom to the case
In Megyn Kelly’s opinion, Nancy Guthrie’s video from her bedroom may have been a huge part of the ongoing case. The video shows Savannah opening with, “My mom is up early in Tucson, Arizona. Nancy Guthrie joins us now. Hi, Mom. Good morning,” and Nancy replies with, “Hi, Savannah. Well, I see everybody.” Then, Savannah notes, “I see that you’ve already made your bed even though it’s 3:00 a.m. there or whatever.”
Kelly argued that the old footage now feels unsettling because of what Savannah has said about her mother’s reported abduction, saying, “Keep in mind, Savannah said her mother was taken from her bed in the dark of night.”
Moreover, she pointed to details like the size of the bed, a side table with a small lamp, stacked books, and a “window leading right into her bedroom.” Kelly also described “the brown carpeting,” “the tan bedspread,” and a headboard with “four arches and an intricate design.”
The journalist’s point was on how publicly available footage could help someone sound credible. She asked, “Did those people behind that note see this segment?” referring to what she described as an alleged kidnapper note, as she highlighted, “Because you could describe — I could go right now and write a very convincing kidnap note on Nancy Guthrie.”
Additionally, Kelly criticized exposure through television, calling it “dangerous.” Megyn Kelly stressed she speculated about Nancy Guthrie’s bedroom video’s role in the case, but she said watching it now feels “very eerie.”
