An old school report card of Sarah Ferguson resurfaced, describing her as “erratic” and someone struggling to channel her energy. And this observation in her decades-old report card, as per sources, hinted at the role she would play in the royal family years later.

Sarah Ferguson’s school report card hinted ‘unconventional role’ she would play in royal family, per source

A school report card of Sarah Ferguson from 1972 has emerged, which sources say hinted at her future behavior. As per OK! magazine, the card was written when she was 12 at Hurst Lodge School in Ascot, Berkshire. It mentioned, “Although enthusiastic and anxious to please… Sarah has not yet learned to channel her energies in the right direction. Both work and behaviour are erratic and she needs to exercise greater control over both.”

After the card emerged, one place insider told the outlet that “Looking back, that comment stands out as an incredibly perceptive observation.” They further mentioned that it “was a warning sign of her future rogue behavior.”

The source added that at a young age, the former Duchess of York “had a huge amount of personality and energy.” However, they continued, “it seems teachers were already noticing that she did not always direct it in a structured way.” They noted that she was “spirited and independent-minded from an early age.” Yet, these “became part of her public identity as a royal who often did things differently from the rest of the family.”

The insider shared a few details about her formative years in the royal family after her marriage to then-Prince Andrew in 1986. As per the source, Ferguson “was never someone who comfortably fitted into rigid royal expectations.” Since she became part of the monarchy, the mom of two was “lively, spontaneous.” They also stated that Ferguson was “sometimes unpredictable, which made her stand out but also created challenges.”

“The report does not read like criticism so much as a teacher recognizing a child who had huge enthusiasm but struggled with structure,” the insider said. They added, “In hindsight that same personality helped shape the unconventional role she would later occupy within the royal family.”
