Season 7 of The Real Housewives of Miami was one of its best. It gifted us a memorable reunion, with Adriana de Moura accusing Julia Lemigova of having a romance with “a Haitian mortician.” Iconic. Plus. Julia admitted that she had an affair with Adriana. It was excellent TV.
However, when Season 8 didn’t start filming, Miami fans began to worry about the show’s fate. There were rumors that Julia and Guerdy Abraira could be let go, as well as a third cast member. However, now it seems the future of the RHOM is looking grim.
Bravo has paused RHOM, with cancellation rumors swirling
Season 7 featured Guerdy and Julia’s friendship ending, as well as tension between Larsa Pippen and Lisa Hochstein. Meanwhile, Alexia Nepola was dating her estranged husband, Todd Nepola. And Alexia’s BFF, Marysol Patton, did not approve.
In addition, Todd filed a $10 million defamation lawsuit against Bravo. In December, he filed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice. Still, avoiding Todd while filming Alexia could have posed a sticky issue for RHOM producers.
Recently, an insider told Variety that Bravo has paused RHOM. Unfortunately, the franchise is the least-watched Housewives series. The show has been entertaining and featured plenty of drama, so I’m not sure why viewers were sleeping on it.
Of course, RHOM was previously put on ice after Season 3. It was revived and aired eight years later on Peacock. The reboot featured familiar faces Lisa, Larsa, Marysol, Alexia, and Adriana. The show also added newbies Guerdy, Julia, and Dr. Nicole Martin, and friend of the cast, Kiki Barth. Nicole departed after Season 6, but popped up in a cameo last season.
While this is distressing news for RHOM fans, hopefully producers will be able to make some changes and get our ladies, with their mojitos, back on our screens soon.
