Southern Hospitality star Justin Assad is quite the ladies’ man. But before he was trying to juggle two ladies at Republic, he had a brief romance with country singer Maren Morris. And despite their time together being short, he has nothing but good things to say about her.
Justin Assad and Maren Morris enjoyed a brief relationship
Justin’s relationships (or lack of relationships) have been a major plot point for the new VIP host during Season 4 of the Charleston show. He’s definitely had his share of ladies. But before coming on the show, Justin had a brief thing with the Grammy winning country star.
Justin posted a photo of Maren on his Instagram story and captioned it “Scary movies + Sushi.” Things didn’t last, though. Not long after, he moved to Australia for another girlfriend. However, Justin said that his time with Maren was lovely. In fact, he has nothing but fond memories.
“Me and Maren dated for a little bit,” Justin confirmed to Swooon. “She’s a wonderful woman, very intelligent, very talented. I think at the time, I was 26, 27 years old, probably took it for granted and was kind of an idiot about it.”
He added that it was “an honor just to get to call her someone that I could hold close. She was great.”
As for the IG story that has everyone talking about their relationship, Justin revealed that it was not a sober upload. “I said it before, and I’ll say it again. I gotta not post Instagram stories when I’m drunk,” he laughed.
Justin hasn’t listened to Maren’s new album yet, but he admits he heard some demos and that she’s crazy talented. It looks like things ended on a good note for the couple (pun intended).
For now, Justin is stirring up the drama in Charleston as he tries to juggle two different girls. He’s pretty open-minded about dating, but it looks like the ladies he’s pursuing aren’t too keen on sharing someone they both know.
