Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Next Netflix Project is This — Report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly returning to Netflix, but this time with a scripted story. After working on documentaries and unscripted series for the streamer, a new report says the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have signed on as executive producers for a drama set in the polo world. Hence, the couple allegedly plans to keep building at Netflix and do it with one of Harry’s famous passions in the picture.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly producing a Netflix drama

Deadline exclusively linked a Netflix series to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s next venture. The streaming platform has a polo-themed drama in development through the couple’s Archewell Productions, with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage’s Fake Empire also producing. Moreover, Francisca X. Hu is reportedly writing the untitled series.

The outlet describes the project as an “upstairs-downstairs” drama set in Wellington, Florida, an equestrian town famous for high-level competitions. Meanwhile, the story is about two rival polo teams and the families behind them, with a lot of personal conflict mixed in with the sport.

Deadline associated the new drama with the Sussexes’ 2024 Netflix docuseries “Polo.” The series followed teams competing at the U.S. Open Polo Championship in Wellington and the family dynasties in that circle. Besides, Harry has long played polo and has friends in that world, with Deadline noting the scripted series aims to widen the focus beyond team owners and star players.

Additionally, the drama is among other Netflix projects that the couple reportedly still has in motion. The update comes amid rumors of Harry and his wife’s allegedly complex relationship with Netflix, especially after the streamer’s recent pullback as an investor in Markle’s lifestyle brand “As Ever” and questions around the future of her series “With Love, Meghan.”

Despite it all, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, resisted the idea that the Sussexes and Netflix have parted ways. At the Next on Netflix event, she cleared the air, saying, “We still have a relationship with them.”
