Popular Singer Agrees to Pay $42K in Child Support — Report

Popular singer Sia has reportedly agreed to pay child support for her son, Somersault Wonder Bernad. She had him with her estranged husband, Daniel Bernad, in March 2024. A year later, she filed for divorce, leading to custody battles.

Recently, a report revealed that the songwriter would pay over $42,000 to Somersault’s father in child support. For those unversed, Somersault is the ex-couple’s firstborn, while he’s Sia’s third baby.

Sia has reportedly agreed to pay $42,500 in child support

Sia has reportedly agreed to pay her estranged husband, Daniel Bernad, in child support. According to the court documents, obtained by PEOPLE, she would allegedly give $42,500 per month to Somersault Wonder Bernad’s dad. As per the report, the payment was said to have begun on April 1 and would continue till her son turns 18.

The legal documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court also included several conditions. Reportedly, Sia would continue paying the amount until Somersault graduates. However, it could stop under extreme conditions, including marriage, death, emancipation, or any court order.

Aside from the monthly child support, Sia would reportedly also cover her third kid’s school tuition, uninsured healthcare expenses, and extracurricular activities costs. Furthermore, the outlet mentioned more details from the court filing, which stated that she would also have to take care of her son’s health insurance. The document featured multiple provisions in favor of the child’s future and financial security.

Meanwhile, Sia and Bernad reportedly got joint custody of Somersault. The former couple has divided holidays and arranged “specific weekday and weekend custody.” This came after the “Unstoppable” hitmaker filed for divorce in March 2025, a year after their son was born. The duo got married in 2022.

Amid their ongoing divorce battle, the issue of child custody seems to have been solved. Last year, Bernad filed a request for sole custody, but the court denied his plea. He also wanted “temporary spousal support of $250,856 per month.” This was, however, resolved separately in December last year.
