Star Magazine reported one source describing the situation as “extremely embarrassing” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Moreover, they claimed, “The fact that this exchange between Harry and another woman has all been revealed in open court is a total nightmare” — and a lot of it has to do with the timing of their return to the public eye.
Harry has long argued that parts of the press mistreated him. Now, critics have pointed out the fact that the woman involved with Harry later became a journalist at one of the newspaper groups related to the case.
Additionally, Star cited a source, talking about Markle’s shock “to hear about this other woman.” The source added that the “Suits” star, “understandably wants to know the full story and the precise nature of their relationship.” However, a representative for the couple reportedly denied the story.
The source also claimed that Harry has resisted the suggestion that the messages mean more than they do now. They claimed, “He acknowledges having a playful [exchange] with this woman,” adding, “But he’s swearing up and down that’s as far as it went — just a bit of friendly fun and that there’s no need to read between the lines or associate his behavior back then with who he is today.”
There is much uncertainty about whether this is an actual issue for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Nevertheless, the timing could not have been worse, with Harry already under pressure in court.
