Laguna Beach fans were thrilled when they found out their faves would be returning for a reunion. After all, it’s only fitting after all this time. The Laguna Beach Reunion was the first time the cast would be talking about some of everyone’s favorite reality TV high school drama moments. One question that was on everyone’s mind is, after all these years? How are Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari today?
The former reality TV enemies “just live very different lives”
Lauren left reality TV in 2009 after her time on The Hills. Since then, she has lived a very different life from the one that was constantly in the spotlight. But since she was a producer on the reunion, she felt “comfortable” being in front of the cameras again. Just this once!
Naturally, one of the biggest talking points of the reunion was the famous love triangle between Lauren, Stephen Colletti, and Kristin. Lauren shared that she and Stephen have actually remained close, and she sees most of the cast regularly.
“Stephen and I are the only ones who still live in California,” Lauren told BUSTLE. “Lo’s in New York, Trey’s in London, but he was in New York for years, so I was able to see him when I would visit, or he would come back to town.”
As for Kristin, Lauren admitted that she had a hard time re-watching how they (and the other girls) interacted back on Laguna Beach. But over time, many relationships have been repaired. That includes Lauren’s relationship with her former frenemy. However, they don’t see much of each other as they live different lives.
“She’s been living in Tennessee, and we just live very different lives,” Lauren explained. “I don’t think there’s anything that brings her back to Laguna. But we’ve been seeing each other a lot for press. I went and did her podcast.”
And Lauren isn’t completely closed off to the idea of a collaboration, as both ladies ended up in the fashion space with LC and Uncommon James.
It looks like all’s well that ends well for these two former Laguna Beach stars. And we probably won’t hear much more because after the reunion, Lauren is ready to say bye to reality TV again and go back to her quiet life.
