Iran’s President is crying foul over an AI-generated photo. The disgust expressed by Masoud Pezeshkian is in response to a picture posted on Donald Trump’s Truth Social. The US President has taken issue with Pope Leo’s staunch criticism of his actions in the Middle East.
A photo on Trump’s account allegedly depicts him as Jesus healing people. Trump seems to have it out for the Pope, who he believes does not care about crime. Amid his country’s feud with the US, Masoud called out the POTUS online.
President Trump unleashed on Pope Leo on social media
Trump’s supposed depiction of Jesus is being seen as a slap in the face by some. Masoud is one of those expressing his rage over that photo. On his X account, he said, “I condemn the insult to Your Excellency on behalf of the great nation of Iran.” He goes on to say that “the desecration of Jesus, the prophet of peace and brotherhood, is not acceptable to any free person.”
The controversial image shared by the President went on his Truth Social account at 9:49 p.m. ET. That just happened to coincide with Orthodox Easter. The picture showed Trump as Jesus blessing a man while a praying woman, a nurse, and a soldier look on. The Pope has previously said he has no fear of Donald’s administration.
Masoud isn’t the only politician whose responded to that AI photo. California Governor Gavin Newsom called it out as well. His team made their own depiction of the photo. In it, they have the President as the Grim Reaper, with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in the background. Gavin and the President have bashed one another in the media for months.
On a recent flight to Algeria, Leo called out Trump, saying, “I don’t think that the message of the Gospel is meant to be abused.” He previously called for a ceasefire in Iran, believing there were better ways to handle that matter.
