Victoria Beckham has shared a rare comment on the state of her family. It comes just months after Brooklyn Beckham accused the Beckhams of being “performative” and “inauthentic.”
To recap, the eldest Beckham baby took to socials in January and made a string of scathing allegations. This included that his parents had leaked stories to the press, and that they’d tried to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola Peltz Beckham.
Victoria Beckham says she and David have always tried to “protect” their kids
In a new interview with the Wall Street Journal, Victoria today opened up about being a mother in the spotlight … and indirectly commented on the Beckham family’s ongoing feud with Brooklyn.
“We love our children so much,” the former Spice Girl said of her and David Beckham’s devotion to their four kids. “We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.”
“We’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now,” she explained. “All we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children.”
She ended her comments on the topic by saying: “That’s all I really want to say about it.”
This is the first time since Brooklyn made his bombshell statement that Victoria has spoken so candidly about it. But, behind closed doors, it seems that things are still taking a toll on the Beckhams.
Recently, an insider told Radar Online that Victoria and David are in a “major crisis” right now.
“They want to be viewed as a fun-loving, tight-knit family,” the source said. “So, the fact they’ve now been exposed as dysfunctional is a real dagger to their brand.”
