It’s been a few months since Brooklyn Beckham blew up his family’s brand with a string of scathing Instagram Stories. But if you thought things had since cooled down for the famous family, then think again. An insider has revealed that there’s trouble between David Beckham and wife Victoria Beckham … and it’s reportedly all to do with how he reacted to their son’s claims.
Brooklyn Beckham “went hard” against mom Victoria
To recap, Brooklyn took to Instagram in January to make a series of allegations against his family, which he branded “performative” and “inauthentic” – among other things.
David and Victoria took the brunt of Brooklyn’s claims, and he alleged they had tried to “ruin” his relationship with Nicola Peltz Beckham. Perhaps most damaging was Brooklyn’s accusation that his mom had danced inappropriately with him at his 2022 wedding.
Brooklyn ended his post by defiantly telling fans: “I do not want to reconcile with my family.”
So, how is said family doing months on from the shock allegations? Not well, it seems. “David and Victoria are in a major crisis right now,” a source told Radar Online today. As for why that is? That’s down to David’s decision to ignore a reporter’s question on the subject, rather than defend Victoria in the days afterwards.
“Whether David meant it or not, there’s a feeling amongst friends that he chose Brooklyn over Victoria,” said the insider. “It’s a colossal blow to the marriage as well as the family as a whole.”
Elsewhere, the source also commented on how David and Victoria are trying to recover their image, which they’ve spent decades building. “They want to be viewed as a fun-loving, tight-knit family,” the insider said. “So, the fact they’ve now been exposed as dysfunctional is a real dagger to their brand.”
