D4vd Reportedly Arrested in Connection of Teen Death

D4vd, who also goes by David Anthony Burke, reportedly has been arrested on suspicion of the death of a teenage girl named Celeste Rivas Hernandez. In April 2024, Hernandez went missing before being found dead the following year in September. During that time, her remains were found in the back of the Tesla, which was registered in D4vd’s name.

D4vd reportedly arrested over teen death

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that D4vd has been arrested in connection with the murder of Hernandez, whose body remains were found in a bag in the trunk of a Tesla last year. They discovered the body when someone sensed a bad odor from the trunk, prompting the investigation. He is reportedly held without bail and will be presented before the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office on April 20. At the time of writing, there was no definite reason for the cause of her death announced.

After Hernandez went missing in 2024, authorities were alerted about the runaway and were sent to an address at Lake Elsinore, California. They were informed then that the teen ran away in an “unknown direction.” The case was treated as a missing person investigation. But the authorities weren’t able to find her even after an extensive search. A development in the case occurred in the following year, when a body was located and identified as Hernandez.

According to the court filings, D4vd’s family was called before the California court to testify before the grand jury. His father challenged the court’s ruling and showcased material from the California case, which wasn’t publicly available previously. At the time, it was reported that D4vd is identified as the “target” of the case and will be subjected to further proceedings. The singer hasn’t publicly spoken about the case. However, his representatives have previously said that he has been cooperating with the authorities (via BBC)
