VA Senator Mark Warner’s Daughter Dies Aged 36

Mark Warner is experiencing what most would describe as a parent’s greatest fear. The prominent Virginia Senator recently announced the passing of his daughter. He shared the sad news with his followers online Monday morning.

He and his wife, Lisa Collis, didn’t hold back over their devastation online. They shared how their child brought them constant joy throughout her life. They also revealed the crippling condition that she’d been battling. Mark is a former Governor of Virginia who, years ago, had been linked to a run for President.

Madison Warner is dead at 36 after a lengthy health battle

While serving the people of Virginia is among his priorities, being there for his family has always been first and foremost for Mark. That’s said to be the reason he chose not to run for President in 2008, and on Monday, he talked about how much his daughter meant to him. In a statement, X Mark said that he and Lisa are “heartbroken beyond words by the passing of our beloved daughter Madison.”

Online Mark revealed that his daughter had been dealing with juvenile diabetes for years, along with other health problems. “Her absence leaves an immeasurable void,” his statement reads. He thanked people for their support during this difficult time. He asked for privacy, as his family copes with “this profound loss.”

The diabetes which Madison had can lead to devastating complications over time, likely making her battle against the disease a long and painful one. Her father has served as a Senator since 2009.

Understandably, this news has been devastating for him and his loved ones. He’s the latest prominent figure to lose a child this year. On January 1, actor Tommy Lee Jones lost his daughter, Victoria, to an apparent drug overdose. Shortly after his death, there was widespread concern about the Oscar winner’s well-being in the aftermath of that tragedy. There are understandably concerns about Mark following his recent loss.
