‘Real Concern’ Around Who Paid for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Australia Tour — Sources

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be home from their trip Down Under, but the visit has left some insiders with questions. Mainly, who coughed up for everything. The couple have said the trip was “privately funded,” but sources claim it was probably mysterious backers who picked up the hefty check.

The taxpayer did not fund the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s trip to Australia

The Sussexes trip to Oz may have only lasted four days, but sources say it could have cost a whopping $500,000. The trip is said to have been privately funded – meaning no tax dollars were involved. But insiders say there’s a lot of secrecy surrounding the actual source of that mysterious funding.

According to those insiders, it wasn’t Harry and Meghan who paid the full cost of the trip.

An insider told Rob Shuter: “The fact they won’t say tells you everything. If it was clean and simple, they’d just name the funders.”

Apparently, the mysterious nature of the funding is causing some worry at the palace. The source continued: “There’s real concern. Because when money isn’t transparent, people start asking why.”

The source pointed to the previous controversies surrounding ex-Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s financial ties: “We’ve seen how this plays out. When wealthy people fund access, it can get messy – fast. This wasn’t Harry and Meghan writing a check. There were business interests involved.”

The insider concluded: “This wasn’t just a few speaking gigs. This was a full-scale tour — and someone bankrolled it. It’s not just about the money. It’s about influence — and who’s really behind it.”

The trip, which primarily involved charity engagements, was largely considered a success – even if it has landed the couple some unfortunate nicknames.
