D4vd Held in Isolation After Pleading Not Guilty for ‘Murder of Teen Celeste Rivas’

D4vd may have to get accustomed to some very different surroundings for a while. The rapper is currently on trial for first-degree murder in the death of Celeste Rivas. The 14-year-old was found dead in September. Her remains were discovered inside the front trunk of a Tesla allegedly registered to D4vd.

The Romantic Homicide singer pleaded not guilty to the charges against him on Monday. The other charges against him include alleged lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and mutilating a body. D4vd could be alone with his thoughts for some time.

The singer has been transferred to a new jail

The courtroom may be the only time D4vd sees other people for a while. TMZ reports that the rapper was transferred to the LA County Men’s Central Jail late last night. A representative told the tabloid outlet that he’ll be in isolation for the time being. Apparently, that’s because he’s a noteworthy inmate. Before the transfer, D4vd had been held at the LAPD 77th Street Station Jail.

According to District Attorney Nathan Hochman, the rapper murdered Celeste with a “sharp instrument.” He alleges that he chopped her up after she reportedly threatened to publicize their sexual relationship. That has been widely speculated, with Celeste’s mother previously saying that she knew her daughter’s boyfriend’s name was David. D4vd was born David Anthony Burke.

There is a possibility that D4vd could lose his life because of this case. Prosecutors have said the death penalty is under consideration. D4vd has already lost his freedom, temporarily being held without bail behind bars. Recently, it was revealed that he also lost his record label as Interscope dropped him last year.

Despite his reputation being tarnished, D4vd’s family are in his corner. “David’s family stands behind him 100%,” said D4vd’s attorney Kent Schaffer on behalf of his family. Celeste’s family declined to make a statement for the cameras.
