Michael Jackson Movie Biopic Reviews

Michael Jackson movie biopic reviews are already causing waves on the internet. The eponymous biographical film details the generational pop star’s journey from being a novice to global superstardom. Michael stars Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson in the titular role. The film is releasing this week, and the movie’s first reviews are out.

Michael Jackson movie gets mixed reviews

Michael Jackson movie biopic reviews have debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a mediocre rating of 35 percent and 99 reviews, at the time of writing. The film was expected to smash box office records, given that it is based on arguably the biggest pop star the world has ever seen. However, if early reviews indicate anything, the biopic has not been received well by critics.

The internet got a whiff of the poor Rotten Tomatoes score and critic reviews. Needless to say, fans and members of the Jackson family aren’t pleased. Taj Jackson reacted, “Sorry media, u don’t get to control the narrative anymore of who Michael Jackson truly was. The public gets to watch this movie…they will decide for themselves.

Robert Daniels of RogerEbert.com wrote, “Antoine Fuqua might’ve had some cameras and microphones on hand to produce moving images and sound for this estate-approved King of Pop biopic. But make no mistake about it: ‘Michael’ isn’t a movie. It’s a filmed playlist in search of a story.”

However, despite poor reviews, the media is expecting Michael to be the biggest opener for a biopic in the history of cinema. The film is expected to open between $85 million to $105 million in the US. Critics expect Michael to beat Oppenheimer’s previous staggering $82 million opening record (via Mens Xp).

Fans on the internet are strongly rallying behind the movie. One fan hilariously quipped, “Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t like it ?????? CONGRATS MICHAEL YOU’RE THE MOVIE OF THE YEAR !!!!!!!!!” A second fan simply stated, “Michael movie hitting a billion. F**k the critics lol.”
