How Prince William & Wife Likely Navigated Sussexes’ TV Interview — Expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle caused an uproar in the British royal family with their bombshell tell-all CBS interview after giving up their royal duties in 2020. The couple alleged there was racism and neglect among members of the monarchy. After this, all eyes were on his older brother, Prince William, and wife, Princess Kate Middleton, who an expert believed navigated the situation smartly by not engaging “directly.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘close ranks and recede inward,’ per expert

In 2021, Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, gave a tell-all CBS interview, making a series of accusations about their time as working senior royals in the monarchy. Among many claims, the couple alleged that there was racism and neglect in the palace, shifting all the attention to the royal members, especially Prince William

However, after the allegations, per US Magazine, the palace released a statement that read in part, “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.” Even Prince William told a reporter days later that they were “very much not a racist family.” Moreover, during an October episode of Apple TV’s “The Reluctant Traveler,” the future monarch spoke to host Eugene Levy about protecting his family from intense media glare. “The damage it can do to your family life is something that I vowed would never happen to my family.”

After looking at the reaction, royal expert Amanda Matta has now explained to the publication how William and his wife navigated the Sussexes’ TV interview. “When boundaries are crossed, William and Kate generally don’t engage directly,” said Matta, adding that the couple “close ranks and recede inward.” The expert even believes that despite all the ups and downs, William and his wife are now busy gearing up for the next phase of their lives. “They’ll be looking to maintain as much separation as possible between present and past controversies.”
