The strained relationship between Prince Harry and Prince William has shown little sign of easing in recent years. However, a new report suggests there may be a quiet shift when it comes to their children. According to a source, discussions are reportedly happening about allowing the cousins to spend time together. While the brothers themselves are said to remain distant, insiders claim the focus could now be on preserving family ties for the next generation.
Prince William has agreed for his kids to meet with Prince Harry’s kids, per source
A source has claimed that Prince William has agreed to a possible meetup between his kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, and Prince Harry’s kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. If the reported plan moves forward, it would mark a rare reunion for the cousins, who have largely grown up apart since Harry and Meghan Markle relocated to California in 2020.
The insider suggested that the idea is being driven by the children’s growing awareness of one another. “Now that the cousins are getting older, it’s becoming harder to justify keeping them apart,” the source said. “There’s a natural curiosity to get to know each other” (via In Touch).
The potential meeting is also said to have encouragement from King Charles III and Catherine, Princess of Wales. According to claims, both are keen to ensure that family ties remain intact for the next generation. As such, the gathering is expected to take place in the U.K. sometime this summer.
Despite this development, sources insist that Prince William’s personal stance toward his brother has not softened. He is reportedly still maintaining distance and is said to be “deeply uncomfortable” with the idea of any direct reconciliation.
One insider claimed he may not even be present when the children meet, choosing instead to let Catherine oversee the interaction. “[William] has no interest in making nice or being part of any awkward reunions,” the source added.
Still, those familiar with the family dynamics suggest the children may offer common ground. A former royal aide, Grant Harrold, reportedly noted that Harry had always been “close to his nieces and nephews,” adding that “the issues have never been with the children.” If the reported reunion happens, it could mark a small but meaningful step forward, at least for the cousins.
