Cara Delevingne’s Ralph Lauren Dress Turns Fully See-Through at the Back

Cara Delevigne graced the green-and-white carpet at the Met Gala 2026 in a Ralph Lauren dress featuring a completely see-through back. The supermodel has been a mainstay at fashion’s biggest night since she made her debut back in 2011. The last time she walked the Metropolitan Museum of Art steps was in 2024.

Cara Delevingne’s Ralph Lauren dress is fully see-through and dramatic at Met Gala

Cara Delevingne put her own see-through twist on the black dress for her appearance at the Met Gala 2026. She nailed the naked dressing trend while also delivering her take on the “Costume Art” theme, which came with the “Fashion Is Art” dress code. Her custom svelte black halter-neck Ralph Lauren gown featured sheer mesh-cap sleeves. The opaque fabric framed by the mesh sleeves created an oval-shaped silhouette across the chest. However, the real party was at the back of the dress as the velvet gave way to an expansive sheer mesh panel.

According to InStyle, the backside featured 10,000 hand-embroidered crystals. Intricate black beadwork and sequined embroidery crawled across the mesh in organic, vine-like patterns. The embroidery densified as it reached her lower back, flowing into a massive, ethereal train. It snaked around her legs and extended all the way up to her right shoulder. Peppered with matching sequined floral motifs, the train fanned out across the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The 33-year-old accessorized with black-and-white drop earrings and several statement diamond rings. The tall black heels added inches to her height. Further, she wore her dark brown hair in a slicked-back bun with a side part. Her glam featured black winged eyeliner, fluttery eyelashes, a nude lip, and a red manicure.

Previously, at the 2024 Met Gala, Delevingne nailed the “The Garden of Time” theme in a Stella McCartney two-piece look. The ensemble consisted of a hooded chainmail crop top and a white high-waisted skirt with a small train. She matched the sparkle of her chainmail top with diamond jewelry.
