Don’t count out Taylor Frankie Paul just yet. As production picks up on Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, one of the show’s producers just said he’s hopeful that Taylor can be a part of it. Whether or not any of her castmates feel that way? That’s a whole different story.
SLOMW producer Jeff Jenkins wants Taylor involved
Season 5 of SLOMW has been on pause following a domestic violence incident between Taylor and her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Of course, things took an even bigger left turn when TMZ obtained footage showing their 2023 altercation that resulted in Taylor’s arrest.
Since then, Taylor has been offline while she and Dakota fought in court over competing restraining orders and custody for their son. Meanwhile, Hulu has given SLOMW the green light to resume production on Season 5.
At Deadline’s Reality TV Summit, Jeff Jenkins spoke about the status of the show and said that there isn’t a firm date for when cameras will start rolling again. However, it’s definitely happening, and the door is open for Taylor.
“We don’t have a date yet. I’m very excited that we have the thumbs up from Disney and Hulu,” Jeff said.
When it comes to the Taylor of it all, he said he recently had a lengthy conversation with her, and she appeared to be “very grounded and composed.” He felt like the latest court hearing, which granted her and Dakota permanent restraining orders, was a step in the right direction.”
“I’m happy for her,” Jeff gushed
The only lingering issue is whether or not any of Taylor’s castmates are open to filming with her. As the domestic violence allegations played out in the headlines, most of her castmates distanced themselves from Taylor. The only exception is Jessi Draper.
Jessi recently supported Taylor in her court case, submitting a statement in her defense and accusing Dakota of trying to humiliate her. Days later, TMZ shared some leaked audio of Jessi trashing Taylor, so it’s still unclear where exactly they stand. Either way, Jeff has his fingers crossed that Taylor can make a grand return to the show.
“I certainly hope you,” Jeff said. “First and foremost, is she healthy in body and mind? Then we’ll talk about it.”
