Hayden Panettiere is opening up about her romantic past. The actress has a new book coming out soon, which details many never-before-told moments from her life. Among the things she delves into is her relationship with Milo Ventimiglia. The two began dating during the run of the show Heroes.
While they broke up after less than two years, things between them apparently got serious very fast. Their relationship received a lot of public attention at the time due to the age gap between them.
The Heroes co-stars dated despite a 12-year age gap
Hayden’s relationship with Milo was incredibly authentic by all accounts. Speaking exclusively to US Weekly, the Nashville actress admitted that she saw Milo as “my partner and that it was going to hopefully keep going and evolving and lead to marriage.” Hayden admits that when dating Milo, she was “unable to put the ‘I’ in front of ‘love you.”
According to her, it made her feel uncomfortable at the time. When they began dating, Hayden was 18 while Milo was 30. Their breakup reportedly boiled down to a clash of lifestyles between two people at different stages of their lives. Milo reportedly broke up with her, causing her to cry hysterically, and they briefly got back together. They split up for good shortly after.
Her relationship with Hayden is among the many secrets’ fans will learn about in her upcoming memoir. Earlier this week, it was revealed that she was bisexual, something she admits to struggling with for a long time.
After their breakup, Hayden dated boxer Wladimir Klitschko who she had a kid with and was previously engaged to. In the end, though, she didn’t go through with marrying him, with the pair splitting up in 2018. Milo is married to Jarah Mariano, with the pair welcoming their first child in January of last year. Hayden’s memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning comes out in stores May 19.
