Mark Hamill Deletes Posts Depicting ‘Dead’ Donald Trump

Mark Hamill found himself at the center of a social media firestorm after sharing a controversial post about Donald Trump. The Star Wars actor quickly revised his original message after the White House issued a sharp response to the content.

Mark Hamill deletes bizarre post on Donald Trump

Mark Hamill revised a social media post featuring an AI image of a dead Donald Trump. The White House labeled the Star Wars actor “sick” for sharing the image. The original post showed Trump lying at a gravestone marked “Donald J. Trump. 1946-2024.”

The image included the words “If Only” displayed over the AI-generated gravestone scene. Hamill posted it on Bluesky alongside a lengthy caption about Trump’s political future. The White House rapid response account responded sharply to the original post.

Hamill wrote in his revised post on Bluesky, addressing the backlash directly. “Accurate Edit for Clarity: ‘He should live long enough to… be held accountable for his… crimes,'” Hamill wrote. “Actually, I was wishing him the opposite of dead, but apologize if you found the image inappropriate.”

His original caption read, “If Only — He should live long enough to witness his inevitable devastating loss in the midterms, be held accountable for his unprecedented corruption, impeached, convicted & humiliated for his countless crimes.” Hamill added that Trump should live “long enough to realize he’ll be disgraced in the history books, forevermore.”

The White House rapid response account called Hamill “one sick individual.” “These Radical Left lunatics just can’t help themselves,” the account posted. “This kind of rhetoric is exactly what has inspired three assassination attempts in two years against our President.”

Trump himself has previously used violent rhetoric against political opponents. He reposted a video where a supporter said “the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat,” per The Washington Post. Trump also used the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband as fodder for mockery during a campaign speech.
