Karoline Leavitt & Nicholas Riccio Welcome Baby No. 2: ‘She Is Perfect’

hite House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and her husband, real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, just welcomed their second baby girl, Viviana Riccio. The little one arrived on May 1, and Leavitt shared the news with an Instagram post on Thursday, calling the newborn “Vivi” and telling followers she is “perfect and healthy.” She sounded happy and grateful, like every new mom deserves to be.

Karoline Leavitt is enjoying ‘blissful newborn bubble’ after welcoming baby no. 2 with Nicholas Riccio

Announcing their newborn baby girl with Nicholas Riccio, Karoline Leavitt wrote, “On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love,” adding that her 21-month-old big brother Niko is “joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister.” The new mother of two said the family is savoring “every moment in our blissful newborn bubble.”

Leavitt made history as the first pregnant person to hold the role of White House press secretary, as she first announced the pregnancy in December. She described the baby girl on the way as “the greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for” as she continued delivering press briefings throughout her term, without a break.

The White House Press Secretary planned to begin maternity leave on April 24, but an active shooter situation near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner weekend pulled her back to the podium, prompting her to hold an unexpected briefing on April 27. After that, she stepped away to give birth.

Leavitt and Riccio got engaged over Christmas 2023 and welcomed their son Nicholas “Niko” Robert in July 2024. The new mom famously returned to the campaign trail soon after Niko’s birth. However, this time around, she has not said how long her maternity leave will last.

Leavitt ended her Instagram announcement with a note of thanks for the prayers she received during the pregnancy, writing, “I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is Good.” And now, with a healthy baby girl home, Leavitt and Riccio are preparing for this sweet upcoming chapter.
