Britney Spears has opened up about her life again, this time, talking about healing and trying to move ahead after a rough few months. The singer recently shared a story from a pet store visit with her sons, Sean and Jayden, where spotting a snake made her reflect on what she called her “spiritual journey.”
Britney Spears shares new chapter of her life
During a recent visit to a pet store with her sons, Britney Spears said a snake she spotted reminded her of “good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck.”
Posting a picture of the reptile on Instagram, she captioned, “Went to the pet store with my kids and look at what what a beautiful baby snake this is… snakes are symbolic of good health, higher consciousness, and pure luck… I’m so damn thankful to my friends and so many new beautiful people I have met through my spiritual journey… all a blessing in disguise… I still have to learn how to be kind to myself and the way I speak to myself… It’s a never-ending journey, and sometimes I just stop, look up and say wow God, I think that was you and smile on!!!!”
The “Toxic” singer also added that she is trying to learn how to speak to herself with more kindness while dealing with personal struggles behind the scenes. Her post arrived not long after a difficult stretch that included a DUI case and a rehab stay.
Earlier this year, Spears was arrested in California on suspicion of DUI. She later pleaded guilty to a reduced reckless driving charge, avoiding jail time but receiving probation, counselling, and a court-ordered DUI program.
Soon after the arrest, Spears entered rehab on her own as she worked on her mental health and recovery from substance abuse issues. Spears has talked about religion and spirituality many times over the years. Back in 2020, she told fans on Instagram, “I grew up Baptist,” before adding, “But I studied Kabbalah, so I go back and forth—but I do believe there is a god.”
A year later, Spears revealed she had started practising Catholicism. In a social media post, she wrote, “Pssss as for the next video … I just got back from mass … I’m Catholic now … let us pray !!!” According to CBS News, her feelings about faith appeared to change during some of the most difficult moments in her family life.
In a 2022 audio recording shared online, Spears said, “I don’t believe in God anymore because of the way my children and my family have treated me.” She also stated, “There is nothing to believe in anymore. I’m an atheist, y’all.” Lately, the artist has been keeping a lower profile after a difficult few months in her personal life.
