Meghan Markle’s Figure-Hugging Oscar de la Renta Dress Is So Bridal-Coded

Meghan Markle turned heads with an iconic outfit. In a newly released promotional video for her lifestyle brand As Ever, the Duchess of Sussex appeared in a cream colored Oscar de la Renta gown that immediately drew comparisons to the unforgettable Stella McCartney halter dress she wore for her 2018 wedding reception with Prince Harry.

Meghan Markle‘s sleek gown featured a high halter neckline, body-skimming silhouette, and minimal detailing. This allowed the sharp tailoring to take center stage. Markle styled the look with her hair pulled into a sleek, low bun, which further emphasized the bridal aesthetic.

According to fashion account @whatmeghanwore, Markle had previously worn the Oscar de la Renta dress to the ESPYS in 2024 before bringing it back again. This time, however, the styling made the resemblance to her wedding outfit even more striking. The original Stella McCartney bridal reception gown became one of Markle’s most memorable royal fashion moments due to its simplicity and modern silhouette, and this Oscar de la Renta version echoed the same details. In the campaign video, the duchess was seen casually walking barefoot outdoors while lifting a cream blazer over her shoulders.

The clip introduces Markle’s lifestyle brand centered around curated home and kitchen-inspired products. The caption described how fruit from her garden and homemade preserves inspired products, aiming to bring “surprise and delight” into everyday life. Throughout the video, Markle wore several minimal outfits, including relaxed denim and knitwear looks, but it was the cream halter gown that stood out.

What made the comparison to her wedding reception dress even stronger was the silhouette itself. Both gowns shared the same long neckline, open shoulder structure, and softly draped shape. The rewear also showed Markle’s preference for sustainable dressing. Instead of wearing an entirely new designer look for the campaign, she brought back a previously worn gown and reworked it through a different lens.
