Royal biographer and author Andrew Lownie appeared on The Daily Beast’s ‘The Royalist Podcast’ and claimed that ex-Prince Andrew was “very, very useful” for deceased sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He also indicated that Epstein’s royal connections likely extended beyond Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Author claims ex-Prince Andrew was “very, very helpful” to Jeffrey Epstein’s royal family infiltration
In a set of shocking revelations, Lownie stated, “I think for Epstein, Andrew was very, very helpful,” Lownie said. “You know, the kudos of being able to have pictures of him sitting on the throne in Buckingham Palace or going up to Sandringham… It was a useful sort of negotiating tool with other people. You know, ‘I can arrange a shooting weekend up in Sandringham.’ And so he was… always leveraging everything.”
Based on exclusive findings in his book, ‘Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York’, Lownie claimed that ex-Prince Andrew was a “useful idiot” for Epstein, who guaranteed him access to elite circles and helped build stronger leverage for him, which he then used for different types of exploitation.
The book goes further to indicate that Epstein’s connections with the royal family extend well beyond ex-Prince Andrew, and their ties were closer than reported. As an in-depth investigative initiative that took four years, the book also quotes Epstein’s former business mentor Steven Hoffenberg, who said that Andrew was Epstein’s “Super Bowl Trophy” —indicating his importance in building personal credibility through royal connections.
Lownie has claimed that the story does not end with ex-Prince Andrew stepping back from royal duties in 2019, following the backlash over the release of the Epstein files. According to the author, Epstein’s reach into the royal family runs deeper and aligns with his strategic approach to building networks with influential figures in royalty, politics, and wealthy elites.
