Ladies of London Star’s Family Could Change Royal Family Forever: Details

If you thought the Bravoverse and the future of the British monarchy would never cross over, then think again. A landmark legal ruling involving Ladies of London star, Lady Emma Thynn, has the potential to change the royal family forever.

Emma and husband Ceawlin Thynn (AKA the Marchioness and Marquess of Bath) share two children, 11-year-old John and 9-year-old Henry. The latter was born via surrogate after Emma developed a rare and potentially life-threatening condition during her first pregnancy.

Despite Henry being the couple’s biological child, since his birth, there has been speculation regarding his right to inheritance. This is due to Britain’s old – and often complicated – laws. To that end, Emma and Ceawlin embarked on a legal journey to ensure their son, believed to be the first member of the British aristocracy to be born via surrogate, would one day receive the inheritance he’s entitled to.

And, at a High Court ruling last week, it was determined that young Henry would get just that. Justice Matthews stated it would be “unfair” to treat Henry as though he were not his father’s son. That means, when the time comes, Henry will be allowed to inherit part of his father’s fortune.

“Henry is the son of Lord and Lady Bath. Not only is he treated by them and will be treated by the world in general as a child of Lord and Lady Bath’s marriage, but he is also their genetic child,’ Justice Matthews said.

While it’ll probably be a while yet before any inheritance is handed out, Emma and her husband are understood to have sorted the legalities now to avoid potential issues later.

Ladies of London: The New Reign is available to stream on Peacock.
