A dinner guest detailed Britney Spears’ restaurant outburst in a new interview. In an interview with Page Six, Jeff Sneider revealed that he and a friend arrived at Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Soon after, a woman “behind sunglasses” and two of her friends walked in. However, Sneider couldn’t recognize her as Spears. Sneider shared, “The woman sat down and proceeded to make a lot of woofing or barking noises and just threw a lot of outbursts. It wasn’t really until she took off her sunglasses that we realized, ‘Oh no, this is Britney Spears.'”
Sneider, a noted entertainment reporter, alleged that the pop star “kept standing up and sitting down and moving around the restaurant.” He also revealed that at one point she stood up and perhaps “forgot to put down her silverware” and was holding a knife. Sneider clarified that he wasn’t personally threatened by her actions.
Moreover, Sneider explained that Spears may not have had any violent intentions, but she was “definitely a nuisance to sit next to at dinner.” He added, “She was in rough shape last night and it was hard for me and my friend to carry on a conversation.”
Furthermore, Sneider dished that two of Spears’ companions “tried to coax her back into her seat” throughout the dinner but were not successful. The entertainment reporter claimed, “They definitely tried their best to get a handle on her, but she was obviously a handful.” Sneider also stated that the “Toxic” singer did not consume any alcoholic beverages.
Spears’ representative issued a statement to PEOPLE: “Britney was enjoying a quiet dinner with her assistant and bodyguard. This constant attack on everything that she does and this is exactly what happened 20 years ago when the media tried to depict Britney as a bad person. This is ridiculous and it needs to stop now.”
