The men of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives could be MIA when the show returns for Season 5. The series was put on pause amid a domestic violence investigation involving Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. Now, filming is set to resume on the upcoming season. However, questions are swirling about whether DadTok will be part of the cast.
SLOMW Season 5 is back in production after a pause
It wasn’t a shocker that Dakota will no longer be featured on SLOMW, as he and Taylor have restraining orders against each other. However, according to TMZ, the rest of the male cast members may also be on the outs. While some production insiders alleged that the men refused to return without a hefty payday, another source refuted that claim.
This source stated that producers felt the ladies deserved the spotlight, and the DadTok members didn’t bring enough to SLOMW to warrant their return. However, it seems that a decision has not been finalized regarding the male cast member’s involvement. After all, the MomTok influencers’ relationships with their spouses have always been part of the cast’s storylines.
Meanwhile, there is plenty of drama among the MomTok crew. While Taylor is welcome to return to film for the show, she is currently embroiled in a nasty online feud with Mikayla Matthews. “What also won’t fly with me is the bad friends and snake friends narrative,” Mikayla wrote on a fan’s Instagram post. “Especially when so many of us spent years putting genuine care, time, energy, and emotional labor into trying to support her through incredibly toxic situations.”
In addition, Jessi Draper and her husband, Jordan Ngatikaura, split right after Season 4 dropped. Their divorce is messy. And Jessi recently kissed her friend and co-star Miranda McWhorter’s ex-husband at a party. Time will tell if we will see members of DadTok in the mix for SLOMW Season 5.
