Jeff Probst is owning his decisions. The Survivor host and Executive Producer is responding to the criticisms about one of the celebrity appearances on Season 50 of the show. Many were not pleased by the amount of screen time Zac Brown received during a pre-merge episode.
In a recent interview, Jeff said that he couldn’t care less about those hating on the show for that reason. “We trust what we’re doing,” he declared. As part of an additional reward in an immunity challenge, the winning tribe got to enjoy a concert featuring Zac on the island. The country star also caught them some fish.
Jeff Probst called out the “former players” who trashed the cameo

Jeff has virtually no regrets about Zac Brown. In an interview with Variety, he found it interesting that “a couple of people, most of them either former players or people who will never play, criticize the show, and it gets momentum.”
One of those who took issue with Zac’s appearance was Season 50 castaway Angelina Keeley. She called out the edit of that episode online. Angelina believes there should be more confessionals from the likes of Tiffany Ervin and other contestants. Another contestant from this season, Charlie Davis, responded with a clapping emoji.
While he owns Zac’s appearance, Jeff admits he wishes they could’ve incorporated it into a game twist. The Emmy Award-winning host denies the speculation that producers that the producers cut down following Season 50 celebrity appearances.
Among the other big names to appear on this season were MrBeast and Jimmy Fallon. A successful Rick Devens’ coin flip at tribal council saw the prize money double to $2 million. A failure to complete a puzzle saw Christian Hubicki cast a vote for himself, a historic first in a twist suggested by The Tonight Show host. There are five players remaining in the hunt to be the sole survivor this season.
The Survivor 50 finale takes place next Wednesday, May 20, at 8/7c on CBS.
