During a recent appearance on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Hilary Duff spoke about her kids and her experiences with home birth. Notably, Duff has also had the spiciest wings on Sean Evans’ “Hot Ones,” so when Kelce asked her to pick which one hurt more, Duff answered with zero hesitation. The actor-singer may have conquered Da Bomb, but she says nothing has tested her quite like a home birth.
Hilary Duff talks home birth with Kylie Kelce in podcast interview
Appearing on the “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Hilary Duff gave Kylie Kelce a disarmingly honest view on home birth with her kids and her “Hot Ones” appearance.
Kelce opened the conversation by admitting that home birth terrifies her. She told Duff, “I’m not a home birth person because I love an epidural.” Duff confirmed she had indeed gone through the unmedicated route three times. That led Kelce to the burning question — which was harder, home birth or eating the world’s hottest wings on “Hot Ones?”
Duff answered, “The home birth was much harder,” adding, “Once you get to like eight and you get to Da Bomb, you’re, like, not okay.” She explained that she loves spicy food and has been a fan of the show for years. Though the early rounds did not rattle her, the final stretch was a different beast. “Every gasp of air is, like, on your already burning throat,” adding, “and then you’re trying to talk and make sense, and, like, that’s not easy.”
Duff also walked Kelce through the logistics of giving birth at home. She explained that the birthing pool that she uses is “from a company,” describing it as more of an inflatable hot tub than a splash pool. Her husband, Matthew Koma, gets it ready once labour starts.
