This post comes amid Amazon MGM Studios’ earlier announcement that the search for the new 007 is now underway. Daniel Craig was the last actor to portray the famous role, with No Time to Die marking his final appearance before he stepped away.

The White House shared on X (formerly Twitter) a black-and-white poster with a Donald Trump silhouette as 007, holding a gun. The tagline on it read, “Make America Great Again.” In the caption, they just added the eyes emoticons. The post likely comes in response to Amazon MGM Studios’ announcement about the casting of 007 on X.
The statement from the production company read, “The search for the next James Bond is underway. While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.” While there are several potential actors in contention to portray the iconic spy, casting director Nina Gold has stated a specific requirement that the chosen one must meet, that is “to ooze sex appeal” and to be able to act well.
Back in 2025, Trump also shared an update on James Bond movies, revealing that they wouldn’t be affected by the tariffs he was imposing on foreign-made films. “But James Bond has nothing to worry about, that I can tell you. And you know, Sean Connery was a friend of mine. Sean Connery was responsible for my getting zoning in Aberdeen. He said, ‘Let the bloody bloke build his golf courses.’ I was like four years into the process, and it was impossible in Aberdeen… He was a great guy, Sean Connery,” he said, referring to his friendship with the first 007 actor, Connery (via Variety).
