Welcome back, Below Deck Down Under fans. Last week, following her drunken tirade around the yacht, Captain Jason stripped Jenna of one of her stripes. In the galley, Ben and Daisy sparred. Once again, Ben failed to take her advice, and their dinner service paid the price. Sadly, things are only heating up between Ben and Daisy, as seen on BDDU Season 4 Episode 17.
What happened in Below Deck Down Under Season 4 Episode 17?
Ms. Hierarchy herself is angling for a promotion, and Ben hopes to give it to her. But Daisy understandably hates this storyline. Ellie has done nothing but give her grief this season. Cue a heated showdown on a crew night out, leaving João stuck in the middle of some rather large egos.
Daisy grows defensive

Just as Daisy predicted, the guests cannot fillet their own fish. She is only one person, so João and Captain Jason have to step in and help her cut each snapper away from its bones. Daisy steps away to refresh a guest’s drink, just as she warned Ben she would have to, and even still, all Ben can say is, “Daisy obviously does not have my back. She’s not even here.”
As expected, Ellie takes his side, eager to throw Daisy under the bus. “She sits on a very high horse, and what we’ve seen from service has been a disaster,” she tells Ben. João overhears their little vent session and sighs. But their guests are happy, especially after a barely clothed Captain Jason delivers a birthday cake to the table.
Elsewhere, Jenna announces that “Ben and Eddy can kick rocks. I’m determined to get my stripes back.” But she has competition. Alesia wants that promotion instead.
After dinner, Daisy vents to João. Ellie does not respect her, and Ben never listens or takes accountability. “It’s a battle of two very big egos,” João says in his talking head, talking about Ben and Daisy. Daisy heads downstairs and tells Ben that their guests want a continental breakfast at 9 am.
“Jason said 8,” Ellie argues, and she’s right. But after a quick back and forth with Ben, Daisy grows defensive, saying, “What Tweedledee and Tweedledum don’t get is that I am trying to help them.” Daisy crawls into bed with João as Ellie prepares to tackle the next day’s breakfast service all by herself.
Ellie’s promotion

Ellie serves an exceptional breakfast. “I am considering promoting Ellie,” Ben says, “because I’m proud of her and I want her to take something home that will show her accolades.” Ellie deserves an official sous chef title, he tells Captain Jason. Daisy overhears, sighing, “What the f*ck?”
But Captain Jason throws a wrench in his plan. He recalls, just as Daisy does, how poorly Ellie has behaved this season. “It’s probably not the right time for a promotion,” he tells Ben. Ben, thankfully, understands.
He heads back to the galley and helps Ellie make sushi. “Good job, sweetheart,” Ellie jokes, making fun of her past annoyances with Ben calling her everything but her name.
Daisy radios the galley, telling them their guests are ready for lunch. Their radio is turned off, but Ellie eventually turns it on and asks for an update. Daisy, who has already moved on to something else, repeats her message. Then, Ben notices that his lobster salad has yet to be delivered to the table, so he gets on the radio, reprimanding the interior.
“If you want to do it, you can bring it up yourself, or get your assistant to bring it up,” Daisy radios back. João, Captain Jason, and Ben all agree that her response is “not good.” Several beats later, Ben jokes with Ellie, suggesting that maybe Daisy needs a demotion next.
João hears this, and in his confessional, he admits, “I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place.” He is “friends with Ben, and I have feelings for Daisy, so trying to navigate with two very hard-headed people, it’s a tough one.” The easiest guests ever depart, leaving solid reviews and a solid $23,000 tip. Eddy gets the helmet.
João confronts Ben

Daisy sends Barbie to grab the comment cards, but Ben says, “No.” Daisy attempts to get them herself, since her team has a lot to do. Ben still refuses to hand them over, because he and Ellie are also swamped. Several beats later, everyone gets to work, minus a resting Ben and Ellie.
Brandon, a returning primary, is coming aboard in the morning. Captain Jason almost kicked him off in Season 2. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
The crew heads out to the bar, where Daisy and João kiss. This might be terrible for Ben, he thinks. But Ben is also busy playing a game with Barbie, moving their table away from the group every few beats. But when Ellie tells Jenna to “stop bringing the vibe down,” chaos ensues.
Daisy tries pulling Ben away for a chat about Ellie, but Ben refuses. He angrily heads back to the boat. Jenna asks him not to go into the guest cabins, since she already “made them up.” But Ben goes anyway and locks the door.
Alesia and Jenna are pissed, but Daisy’s over it. So, João heads to the engineer’s cabin and grabs a key. He enters and wakes Ben up. “Piss off. João, get the f*ck out of here,” Ben argues.
Ben also messes up the bed on purpose before following João into the hallway, saying, “Go f*ck yourself, asshole,” followed by a “wanker,” as João flips him off, and a TO BE CONTINUED sign appears.
Below Deck Down Under is streaming on Peacock. BDDU Season 4 concludes next Monday at 8/7c on Bravo.
