The Chrisley family legal issues continue. Lindsie Chrisley just became the latest member of the Chrisley Knows Best clan to wind up behind bars. Police picked her up over Memorial Day weekend on suspicion of DUI. And just like clockwork, she’s already claiming that the cops have made a terrible mistake, because if there’s one thing this family knows how to do, it’s point the finger back at law enforcement.
The reality TV star was taken into custody following the alleged incident
According to a report from CBS News, cops arrested Lindsie in Georgia on Saturday, May 23, on suspicion of driving under the influence, attempting to elude police, improper passing, reckless driving, and speeding. They took her down to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s, where the officers snapped her mugshot, adding to the Chrisley family’s growing collection.
Between all of the charges, she racked up a bond of nearly $5,000. She quickly paid it and waltzed out of jail in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, May 24. Now, she’s ready to “fight the charges,” and she explained to TMZ why the cops got it wrong.
Lindsie said, “I got pulled over speeding past a car on a two-lane road because they almost hit an animal, and I was trying to miss hitting them and whatever the animal was.”
There’s no word on whether anyone else witnessed this mystery animal. But if anyone knows how to fight a charge, it’s the Chrisleys. At this point, it’s basically a family tradition.
Meanwhile, Lindsie’s arrest comes on the heels of a myriad of other personal issues. She’s been estranged from her family for years. She even switched her last name to Landsman to match her boyfriend, David Landsman.
However, she and David recently split, and he allegedly attacked her when she tried to leave. He’s currently facing one count of aggravated assault-strangulation and took a mugshot with blood dripping down his face.
