The White House gave an update on Donald Trump’s health after the latest medical exam. Trump visited Walter Reed for his third checkup in just over a year. As the oldest inaugurated president in US history, questions about his health have followed him throughout his second term.
White House yet to release Donald Trump’s health records
A White House official said on Tuesday that they expected to share “a readout in the next day or so” (via NBC News). In the meantime, Donald Trump himself offered reassurance on Truth Social, writing, “Everything checked out PERFECTLY.”
Despite this, no official medical report has followed the visit within the usual timeframe. Any details about his vitals, medications, lab results, or additional testing have not been issued. It is in contrast to how it was handled with his first physical of the second term.
When the president underwent his April 2025 physical, White House physician Sean Barbabella issued detailed information within 48 hours. That report included Trump’s height, weight, blood work, current medications, blood pressure, heart rate, and medical history. No such document has followed this week’s checkup in the same timeframe.
Reportedly, there is no constitutional requirement for a president to make his/her medical records public in the U.S. However, most modern presidents, including Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and both George H.W. and George W. Bush, have made it standard practice to do so.
Moreover, Donald Trump’s health has been a recurring topic throughout his second term. Concerns have been raised about visible bruising on his hands and reports of him appearing to fall asleep at public events. Trump addressed the bruising in a January interview with The Wall Street Journal, attributing it to taking more aspirin than his doctors advised.
Trump turns 80 on June 14. He reportedly also made two separate visits to his personal dentist in West Palm Beach this year. The White House has not yet confirmed whether it plans to publish the full findings of this latest checkup.
