CNN analyst Harry Enten took a jab at Donald Trump. He compared polling on a moon-landing conspiracy theory with public views on naming federal buildings after the president. Enten said the conspiracy theory has more supporters than the number of people who find the naming proposal acceptable. This topic emerged after Trump had been a lot busy with self-referential projects and international conflict while neglecting the financial situation of citizens.
CNN analyst makes unusual Donald Trump comparison
During his show, Enten brought up the comparison between the acceptance rate of the moon-landing conspiracy theory and Trump’s name on federal buildings. He mocked that more people support the idea that Earth is flat and the fake moon-landing conspiracy theory than his self-naming initiative.
Enten ridiculed, “Fewer Americans think it’s acceptable right now to put President Trump’s name on government buildings than believe two conspiracy theories. And when you’re lower than that, you know that you’re doing something quite, quite unpopular.” He followed this statement by just leaving a famous Michael Jordan quote: ” Stop it, just stop it.’”
Moreover, it’s learned that only 17% of Republicans found the federal building naming proposal acceptable, whereas 50% of Americans were against the idea.
Enten then expanded his discussion to the approval ratings and the poll around how much the current administration is focused on the ongoing issues faced by Americans. It was revealed that only 29% voted that the government is working on issues, including inflation, while 68% didn’t. “President Trump got elected to a second term to deal with inflation. Right now, what we’re talking about is President Trump getting record-low ratings on inflation, not just for himself, but for any president,” he elaborated.
Meanwhile, the analyst advised the president to stay focused on the economy and inflation so that the approval ratings go up (via The Daily Beast).
