The View Hosts Share Blunt Message for Democratic Senate Candidate Graham Platner

Maine Democratic Senate nominee Graham Platner is facing fierce criticism from the hosts of The View amid the sexting controversy. Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro slammed him for his actions and character, while Whoopi Goldberg advised, “Just keep it in your pants.”

The View’s Alyssa Farah Griffin fires off multiple red flags surrounding Graham Platner

During the June 1 episode, Whoopi Goldberg pointed out the unverified report that Platner’s wife, Amy Gertner, “gave his campaign a heads-up about her husband sending sexually explicit texts to several different women.” The 70-year-old EGOT winner said, “Baby, these men are having the hardest time. It doesn’t even matter what side of the fence you’re on. These men are just whipping and racing all through the place.” To which Griffin asked with a laugh, “Are men OK?”

Goldberg then said, “I just thought, no shade, gentlemen, but it just feels like y’all are out of control. Every time we turn around, somebody has somebody else up against a wall, in bed. What is happening?”

Griffin, a former White House director of strategic communications in President Trump’s first administration, spoke about Graham Platner, who “trashed a Purple Heart recipient, said he didn’t deserve to live, defamed Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle, downplayed how hard it is to report sexual assault in the military, repeatedly used anti-gay slurs and homophobic posts as recently as 2021, called himself avowed communist and has a Nazi tattoo for 20 years that he’s since covered up. This guy seems like a guy of not very good character.”

“Horrible. There is no doubt that this guy Platner is flawed, flawed, flawed in many ways,” added co-host Ana Navarro. Before concluding the segment, Goldberg said, “Just keep it in your pants. Just stop, stop, stop being stupid.”

Reports alleged that Platner exchanged explicit messages with multiple women after marrying Amy Gertner in 2023. Gertner informed his Democratic U.S. Senate campaign in 2025, according to ABC. Later, in a video, Gertner said she and Platner “love each other deeply” and expressed concern over media outlets circulating what she called gossip. She said, “No marriage is perfect, and I don’t want a perfect marriage. I want my marriage, and I want to be married to Graham.”
