During The Valley Season 3 Episode 10, Brittany Cartwright shared that she paid her then-boyfriend to care for her following surgery.
Since caring for her required taking time off from work, Brit said Brandon Hanson asked her to give him money. So she did.
Following getting some heat from fans for being “lazy” and a “deadbeat,” Brandon clapped back on social media.
Did Brittany’s ex get paid for appearing on The Valley?

“When she’s a millionaire and she wants to … give me money to come hang out why would i decline?” Brandon responded on X (formerly Twitter). “That one week worth of money paid my rent for the month and put food on the table for my kids. She didn’t have to do anything, she offered … She covered my bills for the month why would I turn that down?”
Then after a fan suggested he got a “bad edit,” but nevertheless implied he was a clout chaser, Brit’s ex-boyfriend got heated. “If i was a [clout] chaser I’d still be on the show,” he wrote. “I haven’t been a part of the show … since November of last year. Me and Brittany are still friends in private. I don’t need the clout.”
The Paso Robles resident went on to add that he has a full-time job and owns a small business. “The last thing anyone that knows me personally would call me is lazy or a deadbeat,” he said. “Brittany was nothing but sweet and kind to me … What’s aired is what gets people talking and ratings … I’m unbothered.”
Furthermore, Brandon added that Brit had talked about hiring a caregiver while she recovered from her mommy makeover. “Instead, we discussed me taking time off work to come … help her after her surgery,” he revealed. “That’s how money came into it.”
In addition, Brandon confirmed that he was never paid to appear on The Valley.
The Valley airs Wednesday. at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams the next day on Peacock.
