Bill Maher mocks Barack Obama center in Chicago
Bill Maher recently called out former US President Barack Obama and his newly inaugurated Presidential Center in Chicago.
Maher likened the center to an alien structure and said in his monologue, “It looks like something aliens built in Dubai.” He further stated that the Obamas could’ve used the $850 million they spent on the Presidential Center for something more meaningful. Maher asserted, “I don’t understand why progressives like this. Who’s going to go to this?”
The Presidential Center consists of a public library, a museum, a play area, a home court, and much more. While describing the center in an interview with NBC News, Obama said, “It is a living, breathing legacy, because our hope is that people bring change back to their communities.”
In an interview with MS NOW, Michelle described the center as “home.” On the other hand, while speaking to ABC News, Obama stated that when people visit the 19-acre center, he wanted them “to feel when they come through here is, ‘Oh, that was possible, which means I can do that.'”
Obama added that the center will ignite a sense of leadership within the people. Michelle suggested that the center will stand as a symbol for people and noted, “People just have to be fed up enough. They have to want more. And I think the presidential center hopefully will remind people of just how close we are to moving this country in the direction that we want to move it in.”
