Prince Harry accepted the offer to stay at a royal residence after being made to wait, claims source
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to visit the UK next month with their children, Archie and Lilibet, for the Invictus Games Birmingham countdown. And if a source is to be believed, the Sussexes are reportedly going to stay at Buckingham Palace amid ongoing concerns over their personal safety. Harry made this decision after his request for a review of taxpayer-funded security had still not been provided to him.
“He has grown increasingly frustrated with the whole process and has had to alter his standpoint. From initially being told a decision would be made within a matter of weeks, it is now more than six months on,” a source close to Harry told Express. The source further added that since Harry was keen on returning to Britain with his family “around the Invictus event, so he has finally made the decision to accept the offer of staying at a royal residence which he believes will be sufficient.”
The younger son of King Charles has previously stated that the country of his birth is “not safe” for his family. Hence, with the news of his return to his homeland, King Charles reportedly invited Harry and his family to stay at one of his private properties in the coming weeks. And this, many royal watchers believe, is a meaningful gesture from the monarch to reconcile with his grandchildren, whom he has not met since 2022.
Meanwhile, earlier reports suggested that Prince Harry might stay at Sandringham under the right circumstances, but the decision may have changed since his uncle, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, is also residing there.
