Lionel Richie’s Ex-Wife Gives Major Health Update After Stage Scare

Days after Lionel Richie sustained a massive health scare while performing on stage, his ex-wife Brenda Harvey has reassured fans with a positive update on his condition. The 74-year-old took to social media to convey how the All Night Long singer was doing, all the while revealing whether he will continue his ongoing tour.

On June 26, Brenda Harvey confirmed on her X (formerly Twitter) profile that the 77-year-old musician is presently in fine health and will soon make a comeback to the stage.

“Thanking everyone for their concern! Lionel is OK and will be back on the stage,” Lionel Richie’s ex-wife noted in her tweet while reposting an update that talked about his reported hospitalization following the incident.

The unfortunate moment occurred while Lionel Richie was performing in Saint Paul, Minnesota, on the opening night of his Sing A Song All Night Long tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. About an hour into his set at Grand Casino Arena, as he was singing his 1986 hit ‘Dancing on the Ceiling,’ Richie abruptly came down on a platform and jokingly addressed the crowd by saying, “When you’re feeling dizzy, sit your a** down.”

He tried to continue his performance by moving to the piano and enacting a rendition of ‘Three Times a Lady.’ However, Richie announced that he would be taking an unplanned intermission shortly afterwards. The fans waited eagerly for his return but were eventually informed by saxophonist Dino Soldo that the singer won’t be taking to the stage that night due to health concerns. “Unfortunately, Lionel is not feeling well. He won’t be able to continue,” announced Soldo.

Later, Eyewitness News reported that Lionel Richie would be postponing two of his upcoming shows, scheduled in Chicago and Columbia. The report also claimed that Richie should make a comeback in his Pittsburgh show on Tuesday.
