Prince Harry Faces Fresh Royal Tensions After Meghan Markle Blunder — Expert

An expert claims that Prince Harry is facing new royal strain following Meghan Markle’s misstep. The news comes amid what has already been a complicated few years for Harry’s relationship with the palace. For the first time in four years, the Sussexes made a rare visit to the U.K., sparking talk of mending fences with King Charles.

Meghan Markle’s ‘HRH’ slip has reportedly reignited Prince Harry’s royal family tensions

It’s been six years since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California, but the tension with Prince William remains. The rift grew after their televised interviews and Harry’s book Spare, and insiders say it deepened further following a quiet but significant slip-up by the “Suits” alum.

According to the Daily Express, the dispute revolves around the three-letter “HRH.” The designation, which stands for “His/Her Royal Highness,” is only meant for senior working members of the royal family. Royal expert Stéphane Bern told Paris Match, “These three letters have reignited tensions at the very heart of the monarchy.”

As part of the 2020 Sandringham Agreement with the late Queen Elizabeth II and then-Prince Charles, Harry and Meghan pledged to stop using their “HRH” titles in an official capacity once they stepped down. At the time, a statement on their website confirmed, “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family.”

Things reached a boiling point when Jamie Kern Lima shared a picture on Instagram. The businesswoman and close friend of Meghan posted a gift basket featuring items from the As Ever founder’s line. Attached to it was a tag that read, “HRH The Duchess of Sussex.” While she retains the title, the decision to use “HRH” on branded items was interpreted by many as a violation of the Sandringham Agreement.

Sources revealed that the misstep left William “deeply frustrated,” making an already strained relationship even tougher to mend. The royal heir has consistently argued that using royal titles for commercial gain is unacceptable.
