Jesse Watters faces backlash for comparing Donald Trump and Diddy
Jesse Watters recently spoke with a panel including Greg Gutfeld, Martha MacCallum, Harold Ford Jr., and Kayleigh McEnany, while he slammed Democrats for their trend following. The Fox News host also argued that the GOP, including Donald Trump, were the real trendsetters in pop culture.
As reported by RadarOnline, Watters continued his diss, claiming that the Democratic frontrunners for November’s midterm elections will be turning to Netflix documentaries. The conservative political commentator further argued that it drew inspiration from the president’s own campaigns in the past.
At one point during the discussion, Watters made an explosive statement, comparing Trump to convicted felon Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who has been accused of a plethora of sexual offences. Although the Fox News host did not refer to the allegations directly, he claimed that Combs had ties with Trump in other ways.
“So Trump creates trends, and they just follow them,” Watters said. “Remember, Trump with the briefcase full of cash in the 80s? He was doing that before Diddy. He was doing that before (Floyd) Mayweather.”
The remark sparked backlash from netizens, with one social media user commenting, “Is that moron Jesse Waters thinking that ‘Diddy’ is someone current who trends positive? Of course he does. Diddy is a sick f**k who is no longer relevant, but to the pathetically weak Jesse Waters, he’s a ‘bro’ strongman to be idolized.”
Another user called a “fool,” saying that the comparison was “not a good thing for either of them.” A third netizen said, “Maybe Diddy will return the favor and his trend of going to prison will rub off on Trump.” (via RadarOnline)
